4. Google API Services — Gmail and Google Calendar Data

DealMerge integrates with Google API Services to provide email and calendar functionality within the platform. This section describes how we access, use, store, and protect data obtained through Google APIs, including Gmail and Google Calendar.

Data We Access

When you connect your Google account to DealMerge, we may access the following data depending on the permissions you grant:

  • Gmail data: Email message metadata (sender, recipient, subject, date), email content and attachments, labels, and draft messages — solely for the purpose of displaying, sending, and organizing emails within DealMerge.
  • Google Calendar data: Calendar events, event details (title, description, attendees, time, location), and calendar metadata — solely for the purpose of displaying, creating, and managing calendar events within DealMerge.

How We Use Google Data

We use data obtained through Google APIs exclusively to provide and improve user-facing features within DealMerge, including:

  • Displaying your emails and calendar events within the DealMerge interface so you can manage communications and scheduling alongside your deals and contacts.
  • Sending emails and creating calendar events on your behalf when you initiate those actions within DealMerge.
  • Linking emails and calendar events to relevant deals, contacts, and properties in your DealMerge workspace.

Limited Use Disclosure

DealMerge's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

No Advertising, AI Training, or Machine Learning Use

We do not use data obtained through Google APIs to serve advertisements, including retargeting, personalized, or interest-based advertising. We do not use your Google data to develop, train, or improve generalized or non-personalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models, whether for our own products or for any third party.

Use of AI Features and Third-Party AI Providers

DealMerge includes an AI-powered assistant that can interact with your Google data when you explicitly request it (for example, summarizing emails or scheduling calendar events). To provide these features, your Google data may be processed by the following third-party AI providers:

  • OpenAI(OpenAI, L.L.C.) — processes natural language requests involving your email and calendar data to power the AI assistant. OpenAI's data usage policies are available at openai.com/enterprise-privacy.

Google data is sent to these providers only when you initiate an AI-assisted action. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data to train their models. We do not retain Google data in any third-party AI provider's systems beyond the duration of the request.

No Unauthorized Human Access

We do not allow humans to read your Google data unless: (a) you have given us your explicit, affirmative consent to read specific messages or content; (b) it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse or a security incident; (c) it is necessary to comply with applicable law; or (d) the data has been aggregated and anonymized and is used solely for internal operations.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your Google data. We may share your Google data with the following categories of third-party service providers, solely to provide user-facing features within DealMerge:

  • Cloud hosting providers (e.g., Vercel, AWS) — to host and operate the DealMerge platform.
  • AI providers (e.g., OpenAI) — to power AI-assisted features when you initiate them, as described above.
  • Database providers (e.g., Neon) — to store your data securely.

All service providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep your Google data confidential and to use it only for the purpose of providing services to DealMerge. Beyond the providers listed above, we do not transfer your Google data to any other third party except when: (a) it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse; (b) it is necessary to comply with applicable law; or (c) as part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale with your prior consent.

Storage and Security

Google data accessed by DealMerge is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS) and stored in encrypted databases. We apply the same technical and organizational security measures described in Section 8 of this Policy to all Google data.

We retain Google data only for as long as necessary to provide the features described above. When you disconnect your Google account from DealMerge or delete your DealMerge account, we will delete all stored Google data within 30 days. You may also request deletion of your Google data at any time by contacting us at support@dealmerge.com.
